Little by little we are beginning to forget the word rescheduled applied to our favorite concerts. After the pocket edition of Sonar and the shows of Kings of Convenience and a leading figure in urban music, Raw Alejandro, we are beginning to glimpse international names that in the coming weeks will visit our venues. November will be a propitious month for this, despite having started with the cancellations of Anuel AA and Alanis Morissette, two pieces of bad news confirmed just hours before both were scheduled to perform in Barcelona.
Any confirmed bands? Sepultura, who will play on November 16 at Razzmatazz; Black Lips, who on November 26 will visit one of their fetish venues, Apolo; and the wonderful Arlo Parks, the face of new British R&B, who will pass through the Paral·lel venue three nights after the American garage rockers. Other concerts for large audiences: Dani Martín (November 13) and Robe Iniesta (November 27), both at the Palau Sant Jordi. The Extremoduro singer returns to Barcelona with Ahora es el momento, a tour presenting his latest work Mayéutica.
More good news. Not only are small and medium concerts returning, but major international tours are also remembering Barcelona. This is the case of the classic Red Hot Chili Peppers, who have announced that the city is on the list of 32 cities that will be part of their new world tour, the first after the pandemic. A visit from the Californians, who will step onto the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys for the first time after five previous dates, and even more special after the return to the lineup of the legendary John Frusciante, responsible for the six strings on their most popular albums: Blood Sugar Sex Magik, Californication and By the Way. There are still months until the concert, which will be held on June 7 next year, but apart from being expected to be a sell-out, it is very positive news for the large concert sector that this tour passes through the city.
As for what they still have to show, Red Hot Chilli Peppers in 2022 is a mystery, but they promise to perform the biggest hits of their career and play some of the songs that will be part of their next album.
It has been a busy few weeks for native music. The news that has generated the most comments is the definitive departure of one of the most popular local bands, Txarango. The Sant Joan de les Abadesses combo is leaving music without being able to say goodbye with a massive tour, a planned event that they have decided to definitively cancel.
One of the groups taking over in terms of popularity is Els Catarres, who after a long hiatus are returning to the scene with the publication of a biographical book, written by Jordi Basté, and announcing a new album for 2022.
Before the year ends, and placing itself among the lists of the best albums of 2021, is the new work by Roger Mas, an iconoclastic singer-songwriter who presents Totes les flors, his most eclectic LP, moving through styles as distant as blues and rumba, as if he were at home. A last novelty to take into account: Germà Aire has published Gornal, the continuation of Sempre, in which he remains faithful to his style: cosmic pop and unbeatable melodies.
If among all the bibliography written about the four Beatles they had to choose a single title to keep as gold, it would be this one: I Me Mine, titled after the song that George Harrison published on Let it be, the last album by the Fab Four, and which is Harrison's great biographical and spiritual legacy, the favorite Beatle of the most ardent fans of the Liverpool quartet.
The re-edition, translation, and expansion of the original work by Libros del Kultrum is simply extraordinary. There is nothing missing in a work that will enhance the shelf of the most beautiful books in your library. On the inside, with a wonderful edition, but above all because all of George Harrison's essence is here: his thoughts, lyrics, photos, chords. One of the books of the year rescued from oblivion, since until today it was practically impossible to find it at a reasonable price.
