Kleta Mobility obtains resources to finance its growth plan. The bicycle rental startup through a monthly subscription system has closed a 400,000 euro financing round led by FC Barcelona goalkeeper Marc Ter Stegen, who seeks with this investment to contribute to promoting the use of sustainable transport in the city where he lives with his family.

"It's the first time I've invested in a startup, so this bet is a new challenge for me. My passion for a healthy lifestyle, my fight for sustainability, and my connection with Barcelona are the decisive factors that have motivated me to become an investor in Kleta. I will actively participate in the company with which we will build a community of Kleteros in Barcelona," explains Ter Stegen.

According to the Barça goalkeeper, "Barcelona will become a green and sustainable city" and he predicts that "in the near future people will only travel by bicycle."

In addition to Ter Stegen, other investors participated in Kleta's capital increase, such as Holger Sprengel, one of the founders of Cooltra; Levels up Ventures and Miguel Andrés, former CTO of Badi, the Barcelona company where Kleta's two founders, Falk Siegel and Diego Casabe, met.

"The multidisciplinary professional experience of the investors who bet on Kleta, together with their knowledge of the mobility sector, provide the company with the necessary tools for the development of a leading project in its sector. Furthermore, the sensitivity and know-how of these people are in tune with the values of a brand that is committed to contributing to sustainable mobility in large cities," highlights Siegel.

The 400,000 euros raised will allow the business to grow in Barcelona and also enter other cities, in addition to continuing to develop the mobile application and create a community of Kleteros with a reward system for subscribers, who accumulate Koins for each kilometer they cycle and can redeem them in local businesses in the city.

Kleta has signed a commercial agreement with RACC and also offers its bicycle rental system to employees of companies such as Badi, Glovo, or Cloudworks. In less than a year, the startup has reached 400 users and the goal is to close the year with a figure of 1,500 or 2,000.

Kleta offers the possibility of renting a bicycle, fully customizable, for 19.50 euros per month, with no entry fees and no deposit, with maintenance included. If an electric bike (e-Kleta) is preferred, the monthly amount is 44.5 euros.
