arcelona is preparing to face, after the summer, a firm return to activity with an intense program, circumventing the risks of a resurgence of the pandemic. One of the most outstanding proposals is that of the Consorcio de la Zona Franca with the initiative Barcelona New Economy Week (BNEW), four days of interconnected economic congresses focused on five rising economic sectors for the local and global economy. BNEW will be held from October 6 to 9 and will host five semi-presential congresses that will serve to mark "the beginning of the end of the health and economic crisis," as explained by the State delegate to the Consortium, Pere Navarro.

The great novelty is the format and scope of the event, thanks to the use of advanced technology developed by the Catalan technology company SIRT. It will develop the design and the tailor-made technological application for this important event. The platform will be very innovative as it will integrate digital events and events produced in person for future editions of BNEW. It will also be the technological provider in the unique buildings where the different acts of the BNEW events take place.

The event will focus on five economic axes: logistics, real estate, digital industry, e-commerce, and economic zones. These will be conferences that, according to the organizers, will be held in a mixed format, between in-person and telematic, with 350 conferences in total that will be broadcast from unique buildings in the city of Barcelona to the whole world, 25 "celebrities" who will participate, and more than 150 participating companies.

"There will be a virtual and in-person part at the same time," explains Navarro, "that is an important challenge but also an opportunity." The in-person audience will be mainly Spanish, due to the difficulties that may exist for international travel, so it will not be a trade fair congress or focused on the physical. "Whatever happens, this event can be held," the organizers have guaranteed.

Therefore, the most important part of the event will be aimed at an international audience and telematic monitoring that will allow not only to be a passive spectator but also to participate remotely. The Zona Franca expects between 7,000 and 10,000 registered participants. "The spirit is the creation of opportunities and hopes, but there is also a philosophy of action, it is not just reflection."

SIRT will design a platform where online and in-person talks can be integrated and broadcast via CDN worldwide. All of this will be supported by the infrastructures deployed by SIRT in each of the unique buildings where the physical presentations are decided to take place.

In the project definition, SIRT has taken into account different key aspects such as the need to generate extensive networking among attendees and create B2B agendas using AI (artificial intelligence)-based algorithms, generate digital experiences in spaces designed with AR (augmented reality) and in-person experiences through scenographies that will use holographic techniques.

Grupo SIRT is a Catalan company established throughout the national territory dedicated to the integration of Telecommunications Infrastructures.
