The College of Quantity Surveyors of Barcelona (CAATEEB) has published a study that confirms the strong increase in the presence of women in a profession that until recently was very masculine. 89% of technical architects over 55 years old are men, but this ratio drops by half among professionals under 35, where 43% are women. The feminization process is even more pronounced among members under 30, a segment that already enjoys gender parity.

The report also states that unemployment among registered technical architects does not reach 3%, which is considered full employment, while it rises to 12% among non-registered professionals.
The five most frequent activities in the profession as a whole are construction management, carried out by 58% of professionals, followed by measurements, budgets, cost control (43%), drafting of reports: certificates, licenses, appraisals, expert reports (42%), health and safety (39%) and quality control (38%).
72% of the members identify themselves as technical architects to define their profession, while 22% prefer to be called quantity surveyors and 4% building engineers. The college presided over by Celestí Ventura has nearly 7,200 professionals.
