Logistics connects worlds and is key in our lives, as evidenced by the pandemic that almost paralyzed the planet in 2020. It is one of Spain's main drivers of wealth, providing 10% of the national GDP, as reflected in ICEX data, and it is a booming sector that is transforming thanks to its firm commitment to innovation.
In this context of transformation towards Logistics 4.0, with the aim of boosting the sector, the Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona (CZFB) is once again organizing the Salón Internacional de la Logística (SIL), the leading international logistics, transport, intralogistics and supply chain fair, which will be held from June 18 to 20 at the Plaza España-Montjuic venue of Fira de Barcelona.
The main meeting of the logistics sector
SIL has consolidated itself on its own merits as one of the most important international fairs, bringing together world logistics leaders in Barcelona. With a clear international vocation, this year 30% of the exhibiting companies come from countries such as Germany, Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, Denmark, the United States, Greece or Peru, among many others. This upcoming edition will feature more than 650 companies from across the logistics chain, which supports its positioning as a benchmark meeting point for the sector.
As Pere Navarro, special delegate of the State in the CZFB and president of SIL, explains: "We are very proud to promote one of the most prestigious fairs in the sector, which positions Barcelona at the epicenter of global logistics. A strategic meeting point, where logistics leaders, innovative startups, public institutions and knowledge centers gather to define, together, the future of logistics."
Being present at SIL is a great opportunity, as it allows companies to create synergies that materialize in the generation of new business. Thanks to the SIL Virtual AI Platform (SILvIA), SIL's virtual platform generated with artificial intelligence, a better experience will be offered to both participating companies and professionals, so that they can connect with similar profiles and to provide them with information about SIL Knowledge sessions that may be of interest to them. In fact, according to the XV Logistics Circle 2025 Barometer, which analyzes in depth the challenges and needs of companies in the logistics sector, 90% of executives believe that AI can greatly optimize their results.
In short, technology, digitalization, and also AI will be very present at SIL. This new edition will also feature the Digital Supply Chain, the exhibition area where a digital supply chain is represented, with all the details and technological challenges.
Likewise, the entrepreneurial ecosystem will also play a leading role in the event. Innovative startups have their own space in the Startup Meeting Area and the Logística 4.0 Incubator stand, where they can present their most disruptive solutions to a professional audience. In addition, selected companies have the opportunity to participate in a five-minute pitch to showcase their value proposition.
Synergies between companies and knowledge exchange
Attending SIL allows companies to create synergies that materialize in the generation of new business, since 90% of attendees hold executive positions in their organizations. Therefore, SIL has a real impact on the sector.
Another focus is on human resources. In this way, the fair once again has a Job Market Place, organized in collaboration with Barcelona Activa, where companies will be able to attract talent and open the sector to new profiles and a younger audience, responding to one of the great concerns of the logistics industry.
According to Blanca Sorigué, general director of CZFB and SIL: "We have the ambition to connect companies with common interests and surpass ourselves year after year. In short, we want to actively contribute to the rise of logistics, a key industry for our country, which employs one million people."
The SIL will feature the participation of 350 international speakersThe SIL is also one of the main forums for knowledge exchange around logistics. In this edition, SIL Knowledge will have an extensive program with more than 70 hours of content andthe participation of 350 international speakersin three spaces where they will delve into the challenges and opportunities faced by logistics companies to advance towards logistics 4.0.
