The image has the capacity to enter spaces where before there was only silence. This is the power of photography that Material sensible defends, a project that understands the image as a tool for transformation and even symbolic reparation for survivors of child sexual abuse (CSA). Far from focusing on the traumatic event, the proposal, which this year reaches its fifth edition, focuses on its consequences over time, on the emotional echoes that persist for years and that are often made invisible. Driven by the Photographic Social Vision Foundation and the Vicki Bernadet Foundation, this year the project brings together the photographs of eight women who, through a shared creative process, have turned the image into a language to revisit their own experience.
