Seidor is one of the great business successes of the last decade in Catalonia. With persistence, a lot of hard work and ambition to think big and go out to conquer the foreign market, the Benito brothers' company has managed to consolidate itself as one of the greatest references in the technological consulting sector and, especially, as an expert in the implementation of SAP, the business management software that has ended up becoming the great ally for the competitiveness of companies.

Despite the advantages it grants to organizations, connecting a company to SAP is not easy at all and a good part of the success lies in choosing a good installation company to perfectly adapt the software developed by the German technological multinational. There was a time when many companies even suspended payments as a result of a bad SAP installation, since the information blackout they suffered led them to bankruptcy.

Seidor has grown, or rather flown, hand in hand with SAP, but it has also become a reference partner for other technology giants, such as Microsoft, IBM  and Adobe. And not only in Spain,  Seidor is already present in 40 countries in Europe, Latin America, the United States, the Middle East and Africa. Its turnover reached 484 million euros in 2019 and its workforce already exceeds 5,000 people, with a client portfolio ---mostly SMEs--- of more than 8,000 companies worldwide. The international area contributes more than 35% of revenues. One of its latest steps in the foreign market has been the start of operations in the Asia-Pacific region with the opening of a competence center in e-commerce solutions in Taiwan.

The bet on the Middle East

It all started in Vic, but today Seidor's headquarters are in Barcelona's 22@ and they also have powerful offices in Santiago de Chile and Houston, to give two examples. For this international growth strategy, the selective acquisition process of companies has been key, since in some markets it is better to enter hand in hand with a local partner. At the beginning of the year, the group chaired by Josep Benito announced the acquisition of Procons-4IT, a technology consulting company with a strong presence in the Middle East.

Today, Seidor has announced another acquisition that will also allow it to strengthen its position in this geography. The company has acquired a majority stake in Clariba, another technology consulting firm specializing in data analysis, based in Barcelona but with operations in Dubai and a presence in the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia, countries where it generates 70% of its revenue.

With the acquisition of Clariba, Seidor establishes itself in a strategic field with great potential and future within the information technology sector.
Clariba is a firm founded by Marc Haberland that employs 60 people and had a turnover of ten million euros in 2019. It operates in the analytics segment, meaning its specialty is to provide companies with tools and technologies that allow them to collect, process, and interpret the maximum number of possible data so that they have greater clarity about their business. According to the company, Clariba's objective is to increase companies' performance and help them in decision-making and their digital transformation process.

With this acquisition, Seidor strengthens its analytics area, reaching an aggregated turnover of more than 32 million and a workforce of 315 professionals.

"With the acquisition of Clariba, Seidor establishes itself in a strategic field with great potential and future within the information technology sector. We are very happy to strengthen our presence in key areas of digital transformation, such as business intelligence, analytics, Artificial Intelligence, machine learning, and other processes based on data management for decision-making," explains Seidor's president, Josep Benito. According to the executive, with this step, the Catalan group becomes one of the global leaders in analytics and the main company specialized in analytics with SAP technology in the Middle East.
