Banco Santander has started construction to open a second Work Café in Barcelona on January 25. After inaugurating the first branch of these characteristics in Avinguda Diagonal with Aribau in February, it has now selected a large premises located at the intersection of Passeig de Gràcia with Aragó, on the opposite corner of the Burberry store, in front of Casa Batlló, for this second opening.

It is an office that became part of Santander's network after the integration of Banco Popular and had previously housed a branch of the former Banco Pastor. In fact, the Catalan territorial delegation of the now-defunct Galician bank had its headquarters in that office building.
Barcelona's second Work Café will have an area of 650 square meters and will feature a large emblematic element: a cafeteria space open to both clients and non-clients of the entity. There will also be meeting rooms, a coworking area or free space to work with Internet connection, and an area for carrying out the most common financial transactions or meeting with a bank manager. There is no cash desk, as in this type of office, which has extended morning and afternoon hours, Santander opts for state-of-the-art ATMs. The entity's clients can benefit from a 30% discount in the cafeteria if they pay with one of their credit cards.
Santander now has eleven Work Cafés in Spain located in Madrid (6), Barcelona, Bilbao, Malaga, Valencia, and Valladolid. This office format seeks to establish a new type of relationship with clients, bring the bank closer to younger audiences, and advance in the innovation and digitalization process of the financial sector. The bank chaired by Ana Botín began to test this concept in Chile in 2016 and, in addition to Spain, has extended the Work Cafés to other countries such as Mexico, Brazil, Chile, Argentina, Portugal, the United Kingdom, Poland, and the United States, totaling a network of 87 branches of this type, all of them located on emblematic avenues and premises in large cities.
