The Santa Eulalia fashion store, on Paseo de Gracia in Barcelona, has received the National Award for Small Business granted by the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, in recognition of the commercial development and business modernization through the improvement of technology that this emblematic tailoring shop in the city has undergone.
The owner of this luxury establishment, Lluís Sans, a member of the fourth generation of the Sans family at the helm of the store, highlighted that the award emphasizes the "exhaustive" effort of small businesses for progress in the digital realm through innovative services, in a very "complex and unprecedented" crisis scenario.
Lluís Sans stated that, in times of pandemic, the establishment has worked and invested in "improving the store's digital presence," both in communication and in offering new services and opening new marketing channels.
The National Award for Small Business, endowed with 15,000 euros, also values generational succession and seniority in commercial activity. In the case of Santa Eulalia, its origins date back to 1843.
Currently, Lluís Sans manages the business with his wife Sandra Domínguez. The store, with 2,000 square meters of space, features a carefully selected range of international luxury brands and collections for men and women. A commercial aspect that is complemented by a bespoke tailoring and shirtmaking atelier, which creates custom-made creations, as it has always done throughout its history and which has positioned it as one of the 30 best men's stores in the world, according to the digital magazine The Business of Fashion.
With 178 years of history, Santa Eulalia has received several recognitions. Among the most recent are the Gold Medal for Civic Merit of the City of Barcelona, which it received in 2011, the award for Best Commercial Initiative from the Generalitat de Catalunya, and the National Award for Internal Commerce from the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness, both in 2013.
