ara mí, cantar es vivir. Aunque parezca un cliché, es lo único que sé hacer". This is how Portuguese singer Salvador Sobral expresses himself. He recently performed at the Jardins de Pedralbes Festival and spoke exclusively for Banco Sabadell and The New Barcelona Post. The young musician presents his first album, Excuse me, which, in his words, reflects the search for an artistic personality, performing versions of bolero or fast swing. "And they are also compositions by me and my friend Leonardo Aldrey. It's the first album, with all the good and bad things of a first album."

His debut album Excuse me is a journey that begins in jazz and has influences from Bossa Nova and Latin America. Co-produced by pianist Júlio Resende, composer Leonardo Aldrey, and Salvador Sobral himself, it was released by one of the most important Portuguese record labels, Valentim de Carvalho.

Born in Lisbon, the Portuguese singer and musician is one of the great promises of the music scene in Spain and Portugal.

In 2017, his song Amar pelos dois received the highest score in the history of the Eurovision Song Contest, thus leading Portugal to victory for the first time in the competition. The song was written and produced by his sister Luisa Sobral and is a clear example of the artist's delicacy, naturalness, and musical elegance.

Salvador Sobral returns to the stage after recovering from the heart transplant operation he underwent late last year and comes back with great enthusiasm. The Barcelona concert was his second in Spain.
