It's not that he's understood much about what the competition is about, but, from a distance, the only thing he feels capable of certifying is that the boats go very fast. And they've really hammered it in... What worries him more is that at this point he can still be swimming at the beach, when he doesn't even remember when he took his vacation. How can it still be so hot? Obviously, he made a mistake with the duvet change. Has that one fallen? It hasn't capsized, but something has happened to it. "So much technology and then they fail just the same," he hears a few towels away. He turns to smile and sees that the smart aleck is carrying binoculars. Anyone can do that.
