A year after its launch, the startup Ratio has closed a financing round of 650,000 euros to continue boosting the digitalization of the real estate market. The operation includes 200,000 euros from a participatory loan with the public state-owned Enisa, and 450,000 euros of investment from business angels from the fintech Sequra, from the real estate company Guinot Prunera, and from the private equity firm Orion Capital Managers.
With these resources, the Barcelona-based startup aims to continue enhancing its product, and at the same time, expand its presence in the Spanish real estate market. The proptech, founded by Nicolás Araujo, Ricard Tapias, and Iván Párraga, wants to do so through a platform that connects developers with investors, through functionalities such as sharing real estate projects and resolving tax and legal doubts using AI.
"This capital injection will allow us to accelerate the development of the platform and continue optimizing each and every one of the phases of real estate development, improving efficiency for all parties involved and thus boosting supply in the market," defended Ratio co-founder and CEO, Nicolás Araujo. Furthermore, the company is growing at a time when "the real estate sector needs to modernize," according to Guinot Prunera shareholder Ignacio Cifre, who believes that the real estate sector must "become more digital and accessible."
In this sense, Ratio's platform allows opening real estate projects to small investors, and converting these projects into a more accessible and easy-to-manage asset. Through its technology, the startup has facilitated real estate investments worth more than 10 million euros during its first year of activity, and aims to double this figure in 2025. This investment would translate into a turnover of 500,000 euros for the proptech by the end of this year.
The investment that Ratio has moved during this year has materialized in six real estate projects in Barcelona, in which 170 investors from different countries have participated. Thus, the platform allows developers to access financing channels through a global network of investors managed by the company itself.
Now, Ratio aims to continue developing its technology, while expanding into the Spanish market. After the impulse of these first six developments in Barcelona, its roadmap involves landing in key points in Spain, such as Madrid and the Balearic Islands.
