The 30th Trajectory Award of La Setmana del Llibre en Català already has a name: Ramon Solsona. An award that recognizes more than four decades dedicated to literature, with a body of work that includes novels, short stories, and poetry. The jury, formed by associations from the book sector and cultural journalists, has especially highlighted his versatility, noting that he is an author who "has managed never to repeat himself in any of his books" and who has excelled in genres as diverse as satirical poetry, short stories, and opinion articles. It also emphasized the quality of a work marked by thematic ambition, verbal humor, the precision of dialogues, and linguistic richness.
Solsona (Barcelona, 1950) will receive the award during the 44th edition of La Setmana del Llibre en Català, which will be held from September 18 to 27 on Passeig de Lluís Companys in Barcelona. With a degree in Hispanic Romance Philology from the University of Barcelona, he worked for twenty years as a secondary school teacher before dedicating himself professionally to literature and journalism. He is the author of titles such as Les hores detingudes, L'home de la maleta, Línia blava, Disset pianos, and Temps enrere. Throughout his career, he has received some of the main recognitions in Catalan literature, including the Premi Sant Jordi de novel·la, the Prudenci Bertrana, the Lletra d'Or, and the Crítica Serra d'Or, to which this new award from the Setmana del Llibre en Català is now added.
