In a professional context marked by constant change and the need for adaptation, continuous training not only serves to acquire new knowledge, but also to gain perspective, confidence, and direction. This is reflected in the story of Inma Mínguez, a photographer and communicator, who turned a professional concern into a new line of business thanks to the impetus of continuous training.

Mínguez has been a professional photographer for seven years and studied Communication at the UOC. "I wanted to expand my services as a photographer, but I was a bit lost on how to do it," she admits. With a consolidated career in the world of image and good knowledge of communication, she explains that "I needed tools" to take the step and grow her professional project. For this reason, she decided to participate in the Projecta't program, a professional orientation service aimed exclusively at employed workers, which she carried out through the UOC, an entity accredited by the Consortium for Continuous Training of Catalonia to offer this specialized support.

Bringing order, detecting opportunities, and gaining confidence

Projecta't is based on individualized orientation processes, led by expert professionals in the sector, who help the worker identify capacities, interests, and objectives, and contrast them with the real demands of the labor market.

In Inma's case, the orientation was key to understanding that her profile went far beyond photography. "In the orientation, they gave me tools to know how to do it," she explains. Tools to analyze her trajectory, identify already acquired competencies, and detect how she could integrate communication as part of her professional service.

The result was almost immediate. "One day after the orientation, I started working offering communication services to clients," she states. A step that, she admits, had as much to do with skills as with confidence: "Perhaps what I lacked was the security and validation to know that I could do it."

From training to action

One of the key elements of the program is precisely this: helping to transform accumulated knowledge and experience into concrete decisions. "I started offering this service because I have the tools to do it. I had the confidence to see that what I had studied I could apply directly and that I didn't depend on anyone else but myself," Mínguez emphasizes.

Currently, she combines photography with communication services for brands, and among her clients are important and international companies from the gastronomy, beverage, automotive, and fashion sectors, a qualitative leap that consolidates this new professional stage.

Professional guidance as a strategic element

Projecta't is the Consortium's professional guidance program, which offers this service in a 100% subsidizedto employed working people, through134 orientation pointsdistributed throughout Catalonia. The collaborating entities, specialized by sector, also carry out business prospecting to detect emerging skills and real market needs.

Looking ahead to 2026, the Consortium will allocate 14.6 million euros to the program, with the forecast of guiding some 10,700 people, a clear commitment to improving employability, professional adaptation, and the development of their own projects.

Inma Mínguez's trajectory shows that, often, talent and training are already there. What is missing is the adequate support to organize ideas, validate decisions, and take the step. In an increasingly hybrid and demanding labor market, professional guidance becomes a key tool to continue advancing, growing, or reinventing oneself.
