Art is no longer just painted or sculpted: it is also created with code, dialogues with artificial intelligence, and takes shape through technology. It is from this new way of understanding creation that the first Barcelona Digital Arts Biennial is born, an event that, from October 14 to November 22, will turn the city into a meeting point for new forms of contemporary creation. With the motto Humanity in the Age of AI, the biennial will bring together international artists, creators, and institutions in spaces such as Disseny Hub Barcelona, Casa Batlló, Palau Robert, or Moco Museum to explore how artificial intelligence, immersive environments, and emerging technologies are transforming art.
At the helm of this new artistic biennial is Pep Salazar, curator, who promotes this initiative with the aim of positioning the Catalan capital as one of the great international references in digital arts. Salazar has been working for more than twenty years to make technology also a new language for producing and understanding art. Since 2019, he has directed OFFF, one of the main international platforms dedicated to design and digital art, and has also promoted projects such as Digital Impact, the first major exhibition of digital art held in Spain. The Barcelona Digital Arts Biennial now represents a new step in a career dedicated to bringing technological innovation closer to the cultural world.
