The multinational technology company Oracle has become one of the main tenants of Torre Glòries, in the 22@ district. The American software company already occupies four of the 34 floors of this Merlin Properties office building, after having moved its commercial offices from the center of Barcelona, a city where it has been present for more than 30 years.
The offices have been established on floors 19 and 20, and join those that the multinational had already occupied for more than three years when it decided to establish the Oracle NetSuite international development hub, with professionals of about 40 different nationalities who, from there, define the future of cloud business solutions for small and medium-sized companies worldwide. In total, in Barcelona, Oracle has a workforce of 400 professionals.
With this change of location, the company's main purpose is to get closer to its clients, partners, and employees with new spaces, "in accordance with Oracle's customer-centric and innovative spirit, which foster a new dynamic work model of collaboration and creativity, also aligned with its commitment to sustainability," the firm communicated coinciding with the official inauguration of the facilities, which was attended by the President of the Generalitat, Pere Aragonès.
The company has taken advantage of the move to adapt working methods to new times, so the new offices do not have private offices but do have "unassigned" workstations in areas delimited by teams, work zones with diverse formats, as well as collaboration, meeting, support, and client areas.
"The way of doing business, collaborating, creating, and relating to employees and clients has changed drastically in recent years, as a result of digitalization and innovation, and work spaces need to adapt to this new reality," explains Joan Planella, Regional Sales Director for the Mediterranean and General Manager of Oracle's Barcelona office.
For his part, the general director of Oracle Ibérica, Albert Triola, highlighted the multinational's commitment to innovation and its role in the Barcelona ecosystem, where it participates in the Barcelona Health Hub and is a member of the Cercle Tecnològic de Catalunya and the Clúster Digital de Catalunya. He stressed that Oracle invests more than 6,000 million dollars in innovation per year, with the aim of making it available to all companies.
