The new edition of the Empresa Cultura Award, promoted by the Fundació Catalunya Cultura, is warming up. The call for applications is open from this Monday and will run until September 24. Last year, the winning company was Abacus Cooperativa for "its commitment and contribution to the promotion and support of film production, art, historical dissemination, and education."
For four years, the Fundació Catalunya Cultura has awarded this prize "with the aim of recognizing and making visible the promotion and support of culture by the business world in Catalonia." The call is designed to reward companies that stand out "for their transformative capacity, their degree of impact, their innovation, among others, both at the level of their own staff and their environment."
"The Empresa Cultura award aims to: promote companies to foster culture through individual and collective initiatives, programs, or actions; motivate companies to encourage cultural initiatives among their employees and local environment; and highlight the relationships between companies, culture, and the territory," emphasize the Fundació Catalunya Cultura.
To participate, the company wishing to opt for the award must submit its application by filling out a form that can be found on the foundation's website. An explanatory report of the cultural initiative it develops must also be attached.
In this edition, the jury is composed of KPMG partner Manel Blanco, the artistic director of the Perelada Festival, Oriol Aguilà; the president of the Ared Foundation, Judit Mascó; the cultural manager and writer Fèlix Riera and the general director of Abacus, Oriol Soler, winner of the previous edition. In the first two calls, the winning companies were Grupo AgriEnergia (2020) and Marc Martí (2021).
The award ceremony will take place at La Nit de l'Empresa i la Cultura on October 17. The gala will be held at the Romea Theater.
