Pavel Gorbach, an amateur cyclist and expert in e-commerce development, was tired of having to visit a multitude of websites to find the products he wanted for his bike routes. Last April, he turned this problem into his solution and created a first mobile application specialized in cycling. A place where enthusiasts of this sport can find everything they desire in one place.
N+1 offers customers products that, for the most part, cannot be found anywhere else. These are premium pieces that brands sell directly to consumers and that, now, are part of a luxury showcase they share with other prominent brands.
Their target audience are amateur cyclists, who usually go out two to three times a week for routes and enjoy, like the founder, the sport. Today, they make international shipments although their main customers are European.
Gorbach and his team, twenty-two professionals spread around the world, founded the company in Barcelona. Its CEO summarizes the choice in one sentence: "Here I have everything I need to set up a successful business."
According to the entrepreneur, Barcelona is the "best place in the world" to work on his application due to the sports culture, because it has the best cycling shops, and because billing costs are more economical, which makes their products sell better. In addition, he also positively values the help he has received from the Barcelona entrepreneurial ecosystem. For all these reasons, he set up the startup's offices in the Catalan capital, where he also resides.
N+1 forecasts closing the year with a turnover of 150,000 euros. This autumn, it plans to conduct a one-million-euro investment round to raise more funds. Gorbach is optimistic and believes that they "will transform the cycling industry."
For now, they will not hire more workers. In the near future, they want the staff to work full-time. One of the long-term goals of the project is to "generate an impact" and be able to offer products at a reduced price to make them accessible to a wider audience.
