Digitalization is advancing in all sectors, and that of sports and cultural equipment is no exception. The company Mobile Media Content (MMC), with offices in Barcelona and San Francisco, has just closed a financing round of 2.5 million euros to boost the international growth of 3D Digital Venue, a platform that provides services to the world of ticketing, that is, to the sale of tickets for all types of shows and major competitions.

This Series A round has been led by Caixa Capital Risc, the venture capital manager of Fundación La Caixa, and it has also seen the participation of the fund Spodeal Capital, specialized in the sports industry; Limorent, a Catalan investment group led by Jorge Campins; the Ministry of Science and Innovation, and current shareholders. The founding partners also participated in the round: Michele Marino and Francis Casado. Jorge Campins, husband of Elena Daurella ---shareholder of the Cobega group--- will assume the presidency of Mobile Media Content.

Thanks to the software as a service (SaaS) developed by the startup, spectators who buy a ticket to attend a concert or a football match via mobile can virtually sit in any of the available seats and check the visual panorama from the chosen seat. The technology also allows automating content production and offers stadium and theater owners tools to increase online conversion, that is, to achieve greater digital sales of tickets, season tickets, or VIP experiences.

The 3D Digital Venue platform is already used in thousands of events in 18 countries. According to the company, its clients include theaters, sports clubs, major competitions, and professional leagues. Specifically, MMC's technology is already used by the NBA and four other major North American leagues: NFL, NHL, MLB, and MLS. These five clients generate more than half of the startup's revenue. The rest of the income comes from Europe, with clients such as La Liga, the Premier, Formula 1, or Serie A.

"The financing round will help boost the international growth and consolidation of the 3D Digital Venue platform, increasing its penetration in the global events market," says MMC. According to the company, part of the resources will also be used to develop new business models based on the digital economy and the metaverse that add value to its clients.
