Mesoestetic is making steady progress in its growth strategy after having managed to increase its sales by 35% in 2022. The laboratory founded by Joan Carles Font is confirmed as one of the success stories in the cosmetics sector in Catalunya and has set its sights on reaching a turnover of 100 million euros within three to five years, supported by new business areas such as electromedicine.
To cope with its expansion, the company has invested 10 million euros to expand its corporate headquarters in Viladecans (Barcelona), a project that has allowed it to triple its production capacity and increase its competitiveness. "Innovation and research are part of our DNA, and the expansion of our corporate headquarters is a commitment to remain a pioneering company: much more competitive, sustainable and digital, and that is committed to the development of talent and the generation of its own knowledge in scientific research," Font highlighted this Tuesday during the inauguration of the new facilities.
According to the businessman, the plant has "unique production lines in the world, with equipment that can process 12 formats at a speed of two units per second." Mesoestetic emphasizes that its objective is "to achieve excellence and be at the forefront of aesthetic medicine treatments" and, to this end, highlights that its facilities have their own R&D&i resources in the fields of biotechnology, bioengineering, galenics, and technological transfer.
The growth plan includes continuing to invest in innovating medical-aesthetic treatments and also betting on the new electromedicine division. To this end, the strategy of allocating 40% of profits to R&D&i each year will be maintained. With a turnover that reached 63.5 million euros in 2022, up 35%, Mesoestetic markets its products in 109 countries. In fact, the international market generates almost 90% of its sales, as in Spain its business volume reached 6.9 million last year, after growing by 15%. The group's goal is to invoice 74 million in 2023 and create ten new jobs.
Mesoestetic is a leader in the sector in depigmenting treatments, but its range extends to anti-aging, anti-acne, body remodeling, and sun protection creams, among other products, of which it fully controls the entire value chain, from design to production. The brand is the only company in the sector in Spain authorized to produce injectable cross-linked hyaluronic acid, one of the star products used in aesthetic medicine clinics. It also holds three exclusive patents for its anti-aging and depigmenting creams.
"Mesoestetic has gone from being a family company to a multinational, with a family heart", highlights Joan Carles Font after closing the best financial year in its history. According to the president, the group has managed to develop "a robust business model" and to ensure "that success continues to accompany us" it will focus on economic management, on taking care of its staff, and on implementing a constant policy of reinvesting profits. The founder of Mesoestetic, who started the company 35 years ago, has the succession on track with his two sons, Carles and Xavier Font. Both share the position of CEO, although the former is responsible for business development, and the latter focuses on the legal area and compliance functions.
