EGD Logistics has closed an agreement to rent SEGRO Logistics Park Martorelles I, in Vallès Oriental, where Leroy Merlin will locate a new distribution center. Through it, the French multinational will serve stores in Catalonia, Aragon, and the Balearic Islands, according to ACN.
The warehouse occupies an area of 34,200 square meters, fitted into a 56,000 square meter plot. The new distribution center for the DIY and decoration chain is expected to generate a hundred jobs.
The platform is located in the Can Roca Industrial Estate, 15 kilometers from Barcelona and with direct access to the AP-7, as well as the C-33 and C-17. It has BREEAM Very Good certification, which globally accredits sustainable constructions. The mayor of Martorelles and the top executives of the firms involved in the real estate agreement have welcomed the operation.
