The labor inclusion program Incorpora, promoted by the Fundación La Caixa, facilitated a total of 12,241 hires of people in vulnerable situations and at risk of social exclusion in Catalonia in 2025. The program's annual report once again highlights the key role of the 4,082 companies that have collaborated throughout the year, opting for a more inclusive hiring model. Across Spain, more than 39,000 hires have been promoted with the collaboration of 15,000 companies.
Despite the high levels of employment recorded in Spain, access to employment remains unequal. Factors such as lack of training, age, origin, disability, or physical or mental health problems continue to hinder access to the labor market for thousands of people. To reduce these gaps, Fundación La Caixa has been promoting the Incorpora program since 2006, an initiative aimed at facilitating access to employment for people in vulnerable situations through collaboration with the business sector.
In the last year, the program has reinforced its commitment to the promotion of female employment and the reduction of the gender gap in a context where the unemployment rate among women stands at 12.11%, more than three points above that of men, according to the active population survey (EPA) for the third quarter of 2025. This structural inequality in the labor market is especially accentuated in the case of women in vulnerable situations, who face additional barriers, such as economic precariousness or difficulties in work-life balance, factors that significantly limit their opportunities for labor insertion.
In this scenario, of the 39,307 insertions registered by the program in 2025 across Spain, 53.27% corresponded to women, a figure that demonstrates the positive impact of the actions developed to favor their access to employment. In Catalonia, of the 12,241 hires promoted, 6,467 corresponded to women.
A method that transforms lives
The Incorpora model is supported by a network of more than 400 social entitiesdistributed throughout Spanish territory with more than 1,000 guidance and job prospecting technicians. These professionals design personalized itineraries adapted to the circumstances and capabilities of each person. Through close and specialized support, they promote the improvement of professional and personal skills, and reinforce attitude, motivation, and autonomy for employment, key factors for sustainable and quality labor insertion. In 2026, the foundation has a historic budget of 710 million euros"Behind every insertion itinerary there is a story of overcoming. The program accompanies participants in an integral process that goes beyond access to employment by reinforcing their stability and self-esteem," explains the deputy general director of the La Caixa Foundation,Marc Simón
In line with market needs
The program acts as a link between the needs of companies and the talent of people who face greater difficulties in entering the labor market. Participating companies fill vacancies and get involved in responsible hiring models that favor the existence of more diverse work environments. Most of the placements promoted by the program in the last year have been concentrated in the services sector, the main driver of the Spanish labor market. According to the National Institute of Statistics (INE), this sector accounts for more than 76% of employment in Spain. In this area, placements in hospitality, commerce, cleaning, socio-health care, transport and logistics stand out. This alignment with the needs of the labor market facilitates employment opportunities for participants and contributes to the economic dynamism and social impact of the program.
