With extensive international experience, Díez has been one of the authors of iconic models of the brand such as the third generation of the Seat León, the fourth of the Seat Ibiza, and the Seat Ateca, when he was responsible for exterior design at the company.
For Seat President Wayne Griffiths, Díez is "one of the most talented designers in the automotive industry." After his contribution to the León, the Ateca, and the Ibiza, Griffiths has stated that it is "great news" that he is returning to the firm. "His international experience, the inspiration from Barcelona, and the values of the Seat and Cupra brands will be reflected in the models we will launch in the coming years," he assured.
Díez holds a technical engineering degree in Industrial Design from Cardenal Herrera CEU University in Valencia and has a Master's in Automotive Design from the Polytechnic University of Valencia and a Master's Degree from the Royal College of Art in London.
The new Design Director has developed almost his entire career in exterior design areas. He worked for seven years at Audi, in Ingolstadt (Germany), and in 2008 he joined Seat's exterior design area. In 2010, he was appointed senior designer at Volkswagen, in Wolfsburg (Germany), and a year later, he was promoted to exterior design director at Seat.
Díez returned to Audi in 2014 as director of Automotive Konzept Design in Munich (Germany), and worked for brands such as Audi, Lamborghini, and Ducati. Three years later, he was promoted to head of Studio 4 Exterior Design at Audi. In July 2019, he was appointed vice president of Mitsubishi Motors Design Europe, a position he held until now.
