Forty years after its foundation, the Vallès Symphony Orchestra (OSV) is entering a season of both celebration and renewal, with 30 concerts spanning opera, film music, major symphonic works and three world premieres. The orchestra’s 2026–2027 season will open on September 19 with Beethoven’s Emperor and run through May. A significant part of the programme will take place at the Palau de la Música Catalana as part of the Simfònics al Palau series, co-produced by the OSV and the Orfeó Català–Palau de la Música Catalana Foundation. The season will feature 23 programmes bringing together opera, zarzuela, choral music, film soundtracks and new works. Among its most distinctive highlights is Psycho in Concert, featuring a screening of Alfred Hitchcock’s classic film accompanied by Bernard Herrmann’s iconic score performed live. The programme will also include three world premieres, among them a new concerto for piano and orchestra by Marco Mezquida.
The orchestra’s 40th anniversary also coincides with a renewal of its artistic leadership structure. Andrés Salado, who took up the position of principal conductor last season, will be joined by Noemí Pasquina as conductor-in-residence and Isabel Rubio as associate conductor. Jordi Cos will continue as president of the OSV while also remaining a member of the orchestra as a violist. This dual role gives him a unique perspective on the project, allowing him to experience the orchestra from both the management side and the stage.
