Jordi Arias assumes the presidency of Barcelona Comerç, replacing Pròsper Puig, with the aim of strengthening local commerce and collaboration between neighborhood commercial associations.
Owner of Bebe-Té, an establishment specializing in tea, infusions, and coffee, Arias has presided over Sant Antoni Comerç since 2020, one of the most active hubs in the city's neighborhoods. In 2023, he joined the Executive Board of Barcelona Comerç, an entity from which he now leads a new phase.
Arias has acknowledged that among the priorities of the new board are promoting generational succession and business continuity, as well as defending the sector against issues such as rents, mobility, and security. The team also wants to strengthen Barcelona Comerç's European projection and promote joint initiatives among the different commercial hubs.
