The British multinational, dedicated to the sale of sneakers and urban clothing, will return to La Maquinista starting May 20. JD Sports has moved to a new location in this shopping center to expand its space, opening a flagship store that will have a total area of 828 square meters. With this opening, 35 new jobs will be created, which will be added to the 24 already existing ones.
"This new flagship store in Barcelona is another step in the expansion we are experiencing at JD Spain. This store is one of the largest in all of Iberia and will have new spaces, more technology and a creative look at urban style and fashion. We are very happy to continue in La Maquinista, a reference shopping and leisure destination in one of the most cosmopolitan and fashionable cities in Europe," declares the marketing manager of JD Sports for Southern Europe, Gemma de la Morena.
To celebrate the inauguration of the store, activities with influencers such as Alejandra Castelló, Isaac Torres and Toni Ruiz are planned, the latter two known for their time on La Isla de las Tentaciones. Another surprise for the premiere of the flagship store will be the graffiti made by artists Roger Leguard and César Cordero at the entrance.
This new establishment will be one of the seven that the British multinational has in Barcelona, in addition to being one of the largest in Catalonia and Spain. At the state level, it is present in cities such as Madrid, Seville, Bilbao, Cádiz and Granada, among others. The company has planned 15 new stores during 2021 throughout the country.
JD Sports stores are a must-stop for urban fashion lovers, with proposals for all audiences, from babies to adults. In them you can find the latest trends and models from the main brands on the market, such as Nike, Adidas, Ellesse, Fila, Vans, Converse or SikSilk. They also have their own brands, such as Supply & Demand and Pink Soda.
