Iréne is Isolde. A superb characterization, in which Iréne Theorin demonstrates exceptional empathy and knowledge of the work. The audience of the Gran Teatre del Liceu recognizes it with unusual fervor. In private, the Swedish singer, extremely professional and approachable, speaks to us without reservation about her participation in Àlex Ollé's (La Fura dels Baus) wonderful staging. A production that achieved sensational success last December, for its absolutely stunning aesthetic: the spherical mass that approaches the characters from above in the first act ends up being the dwelling, the world in which the loves of Tristan and Isolde unfold, under the impenitent effect of the filter. In a third movement, from the oculus of that inverted pantheon -the lunar satellite, after rotation- a final, eternal light is projected onto the lovers. Iréne triumphs as Isolde. Also passionate in her human aspect, the soprano does not hesitate to share her love story with Barcelona.
