The IOT Solutions World Congress has been, from May 10 to 12, the meeting point for more than 12,000 professionals from around the world interested in learning firsthand about the most disruptive trends in the field of industry digitalization. Visitors have had at their fingertips the technological solutions presented by 330 exhibitors, the analysis of the advances and challenges that have been debated in some 95 conferences, and have listened to more than 270 international experts on various fields. In its sixth edition, IOT Solutions has once again drawn the roadmap for digitalization as a key piece to guarantee the future of industry. Its organizers,Fira de Barcelona and the Industry IOT Consortium have already chosen the date for the next celebration of the congress: from January 31 to February 2, 2023.This year, the fair has focused above all on digitalization and security in sectors such as health, mobility, energy, and sustainability. Among the most prominent trends isthe rise of the digital twin, also called the industrial metaverse, which is based on the digital replica of a product, service, or process. With this technology, numerous solutions are emerging, of which the IOT Solutions congress has gathered an important sample, from both national and international companies. These are solutions to resolve, among others, the digitalization and remote control of offices and factories to review and manage a multitude of indicators ---temperature, energy sources, flow of people, pollution...---. This technology can also be applied in service companies with solutions aimed, for example, at the conservation of historical and artistic heritage, as has also been seen these days at Fira de Barcelona. The Catalan presence has been notable in this new edition of the Internet of Things fair.Up to 30 Catalan companies have showcased their applications and technological advances during the three days of the event."We have exhibited at the fair to resume and maintain contact with our clients and suppliers and to make ourselves known to other companies that are exhibitors like us or that have come to visit the show to find solutions that improve the competitiveness of their businesses," some of the exhibitors agree when evaluating.

For the most part, these are companies that have developed solutions and technologies to transform current factories into smart factories. Both Industry 4.0 and advanced manufacturing are their focus of work. Innovative projects have been shown, such as the aforementioned industrial metaverse, as well as Industry 4.0, collaborative robotics, Artificial Intelligence, Augmented and Virtual Reality, 5G connectivity and quantum computing or theblockchain, among others.Synergies with the ISECoinciding in space and time with Integrated Systems Europe (ISE), the audiovisual sector trade fair in Europe which also took place in Barcelona, the companies that exhibited at IoT Solutions comment that it was "a good opportunity to meet potentialpartnersand seek synergies," and that despite the fact that "normally during the celebration of the shows, specific agreements are not closed, many international doors are opened." The experience of the participating companies corroborates the spirit with which the agreement between the two shows was closed: to combine efforts to reimagine digitalization, uniting the audiovisual with the great innovations of the Internet of Things (IoT) industry, such as cybersecurity or the industrial metaverse. An alliance that is expected to be repeated next year.
