The new Country Growth Manager for Revolut joins the British firm after four years at the Barcelona-based room rental platform Badi, where he was the general manager for the Spanish market. Previously, he had been part of Airbnb's marketing team.

"In the last five years, Revolut has developed a product that has drastically improved the financial well-being of more than 13 million users worldwide. I firmly believe in this project and in the promise we make to all our users: to be able to become the first solution for their day-to-day personal finances," says Giralt.

Revolut was born in 2015 in the United Kingdom and now offers its alternative financial services to traditional banking in 35 countries, where it employs 2,200 people and has a portfolio of 13 million customers. According to the fintech, its global growth rate is more than 10,000 new account openings every day. In February, the neobank founded by Nikolái Storonski and Vlad Yatsenko was valued at more than 5.5 billion dollars after raising a financing round of 580 million euros. This year, it has expanded to countries such as the United States, Australia, and Japan.

Strong growth rate

The firm has been operating in the Spanish market since 2017 and since then has tripled the number of users in the country each year, going from 13,000 people in 2017 to more than 650,000 currently. In addition to signing Giralt, Revolut has strengthened its Spanish team with the incorporation of Teresa Ferreiros ---from Edelman--- as communications director.

Revolut's mobile application allows users to access financial services 100% digitally and with a freemium model that combines free and paid features. In addition to having an account and a credit card, users can withdraw money without commissions from any ATM, make free international transfers, buy and sell shares, and also connect their other bank accounts to the app to be able to visualize all their money on a single platform. In Spain, the average user is a 36-year-old person (50% of customers are between 25 and 40 years old), with a medium income and living in urban centers such as Barcelona, Madrid, Malaga, Seville, Valencia, or Zaragoza.
