The general director of the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, Ignasi Armengol, consolidates the infrastructure's commitment to sustainability after the Circuit has been recognized, for the second consecutive year, as the most sustainable in the world according to the Sustainable Circuit Index, the main international ranking in the sector. The recognition once again places the Catalan track at the forefront of a model that integrates environmental, social, and good governance criteria in the management of large sports infrastructures.

Armengol assumed the general directorship coinciding with Fira de Barcelona's entry into the management of the Circuit, with the aim of promoting a new stage marked by innovation, sustainability, and international projection. Among the first initiatives of his mandate is the agreement with GSMA and Mobile World Capital Barcelona to turn the venue into a new technological innovation hub.

With a previous career at the head of the Fundació Barcelona Capital Nàutica and with experience in companies such as TMB, BSM, Vectalia, and Panama's public transport, Armengol now leads the transformation of an infrastructure that aspires to be a benchmark not only in motor racing competition, but also in innovation and sustainability on an international scale.
