One more year, Barcelona has three business schools located in the elite of executive education in Europe. IESE, ESADE, and EADA confirm the Catalan capital as one of the European reference cities in this type of studies, along with London and Paris, having obtained a score that places them in the top 30 of the prestigious ranking prepared by Financial Times.
The classification, which the British financial newspaper publishes this Monday, is led by HEC Paris and London Business School and, in the third position on the podium, is IESE Business School, which climbs three positions compared to the 2022 ranking. The business school of the University of Navarra manages to win the bronze medal after having dropped to sixth position last year. In 2020 and 2021 it was in fourth, so it has obtained the best score in the last four years, overtaking the ESCP Business School (France), SDA Bocconi (Italy), and University of St Gallen (Switzerland) centers.
It should be noted that this European ranking of business schools is considered the most complete of those carried out throughout the year by Financial Times, as it is the result of the average of the scores obtained in other more specific classifications, such as the ranking of best MBAs, Executive Education programs, and other types of training for senior executives. In MBA, for example, IESE occupies this year the second position in Europe, seventh in the EMBA program, number 12 in management masters, and number 1 in open Executive Education programs, according to Financial Times.
Returning to the global ranking of the best 90 European business schools published this Monday, we observe how ESADE has also managed to significantly improve its position, climbing five positions, to occupy number 12 in the ranking. In 2022 it was in number 17 on the table, in 2021 in number 13. According to the British newspaper, ESADE has the tenth best MBA in Europe and occupies the third position in open Executive Education programs.
At the top of the ranking also appears EADA, which now occupies position number 30, descending three steps from the 27th position it held in 2022. EADA's MBA is ranked 34th, its EMBA program 57th, and in open Executive Education programs it is in 14th position. "It is not easy to maintain this level but we are clear about our strategic commitment: to move towards a sustainable future in business with trained and committed professionals," said Jordi Díaz, dean of EADA Business School.
The report on the 90 best European business schools includes two other Spanish centers. These are the Instituto de Empresa (IE) and the Universidad Carlos III, both in Madrid, which occupy positions 8 and 68 in the ranking, respectively.
