Holaluz invoices 236 million and increases the number of customers by 31% in 2020

The pandemic has not prevented Holaluz from advancing its ambitious growth plan, based on a new way of relating to customers and on the management of photovoltaic installations on rooftops to promote renewable energy.

Ten years after its birth, Holaluz is making good progress in its plans to reach one million customers by 2023. The Barcelona-based company, which sells 100% renewable energy, closed 2020 with a portfolio of 297,816 supply contracts, a figure that means it has attracted 70,608 new customers in the year of the pandemic, 31% more than in 2019.

In its last fiscal year, closed last September, the company reached a turnover of 235.9 million euros, with a growth of 13% compared to 208.8 million in 2019. Although it continues to record accounting losses, Holaluz has increased its gross margin to 27.3 million and its ebitda to 3.5 million, with growths of 67% and 35%, respectively.

The company founded by Carlota Pi, Oriol Vila and Ferran Nogué launched last summer La Revolución de los Tejados (The Revolution of the Rooftops), a commercial strategy with which it aims to boost self-consumption of electricity and multiply renewable energy production points by installing photovoltaic panels on the rooftops of residential buildings. Thus, since last June, Holaluz has grown by 61% in the management of photovoltaic installations, reaching 3,033 as of September 30, 2020. By the end of the calendar year, in December, this figure already exceeded 4,000 units, 350% more than in 2019.

For just over a year, Holaluz has been listed on BME Growth (the former MAB), where it debuted with a share placement that allowed it to raise 30 million euros to finance a growth plan that aims to reach one million customers by 2023. In that year, it is also expected to manage 50,000 photovoltaic installations and reach 1000 MW in representation contracts with renewable producers.
