The board of trustees of the Mobile World Capital Foundation has appointed Francesc Fajula as the new general director of the entity this Monday, replacing Carles Grau, who has held the position since 2017.

The executive has developed his last professional stage as general director of Financial Services at Dominion Global, a listed Basque engineering and technology company led by Mikel Barandiaran and which emerged from CIE Automotive. Francesc Fajula joins the Mobile World Capital Foundation with the aim of "driving a new stage", coinciding with the celebration of the organization's tenth anniversary and in a context in which technology and digitalization are playing an increasingly relevant role in people's lives.

The Mobile World Capital Foundation has highlighted Fajula's "extensive experience" in the digital world, entrepreneurship, innovation, international companies and young talent.

Francesc Fajula is a manager with a long career in the digital industry, where he has held responsibilities in various business corporations. Specifically, he has been E-Commerce director at Terra, general director of the Banesto Foundation and director of Innovation and Digital Strategy at Grupo Santander, developing entrepreneur programs and creating an accelerator in San Francisco. He has also been director of Digital Transformation and Innovation at Banco Sabadell.

Fajula has a degree in Telecommunications Engineering from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, an MBA from Esade and has completed higher studies at IESE, Stanford School of Business and Harvard Business School.

The foundation announced last April its intention to replace Carles Grau in the general management, although he has maintained his functions until now. In a meeting held this Monday, the Board of Trustees thanked Grau for his work and achievements, and he will collaborate in the handover to the new director, who will take office in the coming weeks.
