Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya (FGC) is warming up for the tourist season, highlighting the natural attractions spread across the territory. To the long list of destinations offered by the company, this summer will add the Montsec Astronomical Park, a benchmark in the teaching and dissemination of astronomy and space sciences located in the municipality of Àger, in the Noguera region.

The low rainfall in the area, the low light pollution in the surroundings, and the altitude make the Montsec Astronomical Park an ideal place to look at the stars. From this privileged position, L'Astronòmic will program this summer a wide range of daytime and nighttime proposals for all audiences.

Another novelty this season will be the incorporation of Boí Taüll into FGC's management. It will also be the first summer that this station will offer activities during the summer, from June 23 to September 12. Specifically, it will provide visitors with an electric bicycle and mountain bike rental service to discover the Vall de Boí on wheels, through guided tours or a children's circuit. Likewise, an information point will be set up to inform about the hiking routes that can be done in the area.

The other mountain stations managed by FGC, such as La Molina, Vallter, and Vall de Núria, will also invite visitors to be in contact with nature and practice all kinds of outdoor activities, such as hiking, cycling, trail running, or adventure sports.

This summer, the excursions proposed by Ferrocarrils' tourist trains to explore Catalonia will also not be missing. The offer includes the Montserrat Rack Railway and Funiculars, as a gateway to the Montserrat Mountain Natural Park; the Núria Rack Railway, to access the Vall de Núria station; the Cement Train, to reach the Cadí-Moixeró Natural Park; the Lakes Train, to go to the Lleida Pre-Pyrenees, and the Gelida Funicular, to discover the urban center and industrial area of this town.
