Dr. Ferran Pellisé has been an active member of the Scoliosis Research Society for twelve years, where he was invited to join the board of directors as a counselor in 2018. Until then, only two Spanish doctors had been part of the board. For Pellisé's appointment as secretary, his initiative as founder of the European Spine Study Group (ESSGC), created in 2010 by several specialists and based at the Vall d'Hebron Institut de Recerca (VHIR) in Barcelona, has been key.
With more than 25 years of full dedication to the surgical treatment of spinal pathologies and, in particular, scoliosis, Pellisé carries out his activity at the Hospital Universitari Vall d'Hebron in Barcelona, where he is head of the Spinal Surgery unit and head of the Spinal Research unit of the VHIR since 2014. He also works at Hospital Quirónsalud Barcelona as medical director and founder of the Barcelona Spine Institute (BSI).
