Estrella Damm, official sponsor of the Louis Vuitton 37th America's Cup, has launched a limited edition of its 25 cl can for the sailing competition that recently began in the waters of Barcelona and will last until October. A special edition that has been designed by Ricard Jorge, a graphic designer specializing in geometric, bold, and colorful illustrations, and which can now be found in supermarkets.
Ricard Jorge's works stand out for the contrast between minimal expression and detailed environments, always making balanced use of basic shapes, lights, and colors to respect the essence of the represented elements. For the occasion, the designer has created an illustration inspired by the sailing tournament, in which he has managed to represent with a unique style the coastline of the Catalan capital, which has become the official regatta course for the 37th America's Cup. The illustration can be found on the 25 cl cans sold in packs of 12 units in the food channel.
As an official sponsor of the America's Cup, Estrella Damm is the beer of the tournament and enjoys visibility in the different spaces set up during the competition in Barcelona, in addition to collaborating with actions that bring the competition and sailing closer to the public. In this vein, over the past few months, the Old Factory has hosted America's Cup volunteer training sessions – attended by around 1,600 people who will contribute to the development of the competition – as well as outreach sessions on the most outstanding aspects of this regatta, considered the oldest trophy in international sport.
Estrella Damm and sailing
Currently, and after 148 years of history, Estrella Damm's presence in the world of sport knows no limits, and the company remains committed to all its disciplines in events, both national and international, related to football, basketball, tennis, padel, golf, or sailing, among others.
The relationship between Estrella Damm and sailing dates back more than 25 years, with the first sponsorships of the Copa del Rey de Vela (Palma de Mallorca), a competition in which the Estrella Damm Sailing Team emerged victorious in the 1998, 2018, and 2019 editions. In 2007 and 2010, it also participated in the first and second editions of the Barcelona World Race, the only two-crew, non-stop round-the-world sailing race, starting and finishing in Barcelona.
In this 37th edition, the beer repeats as a sponsor of the America's Cup – as it did in the 2007 and 2010 editions, held in Valencia – in addition to sponsoring the Emirates Team New Zealand, the current defender of the title – which it also sponsored in the 2007 edition – thus reinforcing its commitment to sailing, sport, and society.
