The energy transition opens a stage of opportunities to strengthen Catalonia's competitiveness and modernize its productive fabric. The promotion of new infrastructures, the advancement of renewable energies, and the commitment to the decarbonization of transport and industry are shaping a new scenario in which collaboration between administrations and the private sector becomes essential to advance with solidity and coherence, and to be more competitive in the international arena.
These will be some of the topics that will be put on the table in the third Eixample Talks: the energy challenge to be more competitive, which will take place on December 3 at 6:30 p.m. at the Pimec headquarters (Viladomat, 174, Barcelona). The event is part of the debate series of Eixample Talks: the meeting between the public and private worlds, promoted by Pimec and The New Barcelona Post, with the aim of fostering dialogue and collaboration between sectors to address the country's major economic challenges. Seating is limited and prior registration is required to attend.
The third Eixample Talks will explore strategies in infrastructure, governance, and public-private partnerships that can accelerate the energy transition. The debate will focus on strategic issues such as the deployment of energy infrastructures, shared governance, the integration of renewables, and how innovation and public-private partnerships can contribute to boosting business competitiveness.
The session will feature a round table composed of Jordi Vila, Head of Environment at the Port of Barcelona; Dani Pérez, director of L'Energètica, the Catalan public company that promotes renewable generation projects; and Emili Rousaud, CEO of Factor Energia, one of the country's main electricity retailers.
The institutional welcome will be given by José Enrique Vázquez, president of Pimec Energia, and the session will be moderated by Elena Busquets, director of The New Barcelona Post.
As in the other sessions of the cycle, the Eixample Talks will be held in transmedia format, with in-person attendance and subsequent dissemination in video-podcast format to ensure its reach beyond the physical meeting.
The Eixample Talks cycle is an initiative of Pimec and The New Barcelona Post, with the collaboration of the Generalitat de Catalunya, Bankinter, the Port de Barcelona, the Àrea Metropolitana de Barcelona (AMB), Mustmedia and LLYC.
