The Norwegian multinational Element Logic, specialized in the automation and robotization of warehouses, has announced that it will open a new headquarters in Barcelona to enter the Iberian market. The launch of this headquarters in Barcelona is led by Albert Vidal, head of Element Logic in Spain.
At a time when online commerce is booming and when large cities and metropolitan areas have less and less land available for large warehouses, automated solutions seem to be making their way at an accelerated pace. Element Logic arrives in Spain after closing 2020 with a turnover exceeding 100 million euros, its historical maximum.
The company presents itself as a comprehensive provider of automated storage solutions and works with the AutoScore system. A cubic storage system that works with a set of robots and an aluminum grid-shaped structure that contains different bins where products are stored.
The robots move the bins to the employees' picking stations and move them without the need for any human effort. The system detects which products are most frequently required and places them at the top of the structure to be reached more quickly.
"We are very proud to announce the opening of our office in Spain and with Albert's experience of more than 20 years in Spain and Germany in technology companies in the industrial and logistics sector, we are convinced that we will achieve solid development and the growth we need," assures the CEO of Element Logic, Dag-Adler Blakseth.
One of the great advantages of this system is its scalability: companies can expand their storage and robot capacity as their business characteristics require, without having to interrupt their activity.
The rise of e-commerce in recent years has created the need for many businesses to improve their storage systems and increase their capacity without requiring much additional land.
"It is, above all, about companies in sports equipment, electronics, pharmacy, cosmetics or fashion, which have had peak demands in which they have sold in one week what the previous year they sold in several months. To maintain a high level of customer service, these growths require efficient and error-free logistics," comments the head of Element Logic in Spain, Albert Vidal.
