Framed within the environmental campaign 1m2 for beaches and seas, promoted since 2017 by Project Libera, Estrella Damm and the CRAM Foundation have organized a massive cleanup on the beach of El Prat de Llobregat, next Saturday, September 17, coinciding with International Beach Day.
The beer brand and the private entity, dedicated to the protection of the marine environment and the species that inhabit it, join their efforts to fight against climate change and to raise awareness among the population about the ecological emergency to which the Mediterranean is exposed. They do so in a committed, yet festive way.
The initiative ---which will feature the participation of Damm volunteers and will be led by CRAM technicians---, is open to anyone who wants to contribute to freeing El Prat beach from waste, by prior registration via email festadelaplatja@damm.es. Throughout the day, participants will be able to learn first-hand about the work carried out by CRAM (Marine Animal Recovery Center), an entity that assists and recovers endangered marine species to reintroduce them into their habitat. In 25 years of work for the sea, the CRAM Foundation has recovered and released more than 800 sea turtles and has provided more than 350 assists to live cetaceans stranded on the beach.
The final touch to next Saturday's day will be the live performance that the group Intana will offer at the El Calamar beach bar, located on El Prat beach itself. The Barcelona pop band, led by the voice of singer and composer Núria Moliner, will perform songs from their third and latest album Planeta nou.
The Festa de la Platja joins other actions promoted by Estrella Damm with the aim of minimizing its environmental impact and promoting awareness about environmental care among society. From the replacement of the plastic rings that joined its can packs with a new grouping format made of 100% biodegradable cardboard to the elimination of the decorated plastics that wrapped its cans, to name a few of the initiatives.
