Cecot recovers the itinerancy of its great annual dinner, whose mission is to honor the work of "doing business daily" through the delivery of the Business Progress Awards, which this year reach their 28th edition. The chosen venue for the event, scheduled for Thursday, October 26, is the Teatre Auditori de Sant Cugat del Vallès. The employers' association has also decided to modify the name of this meeting, which ceases to be called La Nit de l'Empresari to become La Nit de l'Empresa de la Cecot.

"At Cecot, when we talk about companies, we do so in an integral way, including ownership, shareholders, the governance team, the team of professionals in the workforce, and collaborators," explains the entity's president, Xavier Panés, to justify the name change. The employers' leader also emphasizes the importance of recovering the itinerancy that had been maintained before the pandemic to bring the multitudinous meeting of the economic and business sector closer to Catalan companies and reaffirm the vocation of working in a network with other business organizations and socioeconomic entities in the territory. In this case, the collaboration will be carried out with the Sant Cugat City Council and with the Sant Cugat Empresarial association.

"We will celebrate La Nit de l'Empresa in Sant Cugat, strengthening our commitment to the business fabric of one of the most industrialized regions in Southern Europe, such as the Vallès as a whole," said Panés during a meeting held this week at the Teatre Auditori de Sant Cugat with representatives of the collaborating companies and entities that will make this great event of the Catalan economic and business world possible.

Cecot has also announced that the rules have already been published and the deadline opened --until September 15-- for companies and entrepreneurs based in Catalonia to submit their business project and candidacy for the 28th edition of the Cecot Business Progress Awards, which will highlight actions in energy efficiency and sustainability, digital transformation, prevention and health, social responsibility, and will also incentivize young talent. In total, nine awards will be presented, and there will also be a special mention for centenary companies.

The purpose of these awards is to publicly distinguish companies, individuals, and institutions that have made and are making a significant effort for economic and business development from any area. "The convening entities, and Cecot among them, believe that good practices must be distinguished, they must be rewarded and made public so that they serve as references for other companies in the sector. This year marks 28 years (since 1995) since the entity committed to these awards, as we know them today, and at this moment they are consolidated," Panés reiterated.

According to Panés, "La Nit de l'Empresa de la Cecot will once again be carbon neutral, integrating, from the outset, into the project the commitment we already acquired last year after calculating and certifying our carbon footprint. Thus, this year the team will work to reduce the environmental impact of the event and where we cannot reduce emissions, we will offset them through an economic contribution to a reforestation project, registered and monitored by the Ministry for Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge."

In addition to the usual sponsors of the event, this year eDiversa Group, Moventia, Saba, Agbar, HP, Mercadona, and Aura Consultors are joining. The New Barcelona Post will also be one of the collaborating media outlets for La Nit de l'Empresa. The Port de Barcelona, the Consorcio de la Zona Franca de Barcelona, Endesa, Saba, CaixaBank, and Mutua de Terrassa also figure among the entities and companies that support the initiative.
