A total of 120 Catalan companies and designers have landed with their lighting proposals at Milano Design Week. The exhibitors have brought more than a hundred products to the event, within the exhibition Inspired in Barcelona: Luce.
The exhibition, with 40 companies and 80 designers, can be seen in the Milanese district of Brera until April 13 as part of the Salone del Mobile program, which will host more than 2,100 exhibitors from 37 countries throughout the Italian city.
The proposals of the Catalan exhibitors have been arranged on three platforms surrounded by a completely dark space in the Santa Maria del Carmine Church. In addition, Catalan design schools will also be represented such as Eina, Elisava, Escola Massana, Esdapc, Ied Barcelona and LCI Barcelona.
Curated by architect Stefano Colli, the exhibition compiles the past, present and future of Catalan design applied to the field of lighting. Jointly promoted by the Department of Business of the Generalitat, through Acció, and the Barcelona City Council, through the DHub, the exhibition is organized by the Barcelona Creativity & Design Foundation. "On this occasion, we have placed Barcelona's lighting design at the center of the Mediterranean discourse, projecting the Catalan capital towards the rest of the world," Colli summarized.
