With Sants Station as a backdrop, about twenty businesspeople and representatives of civil society from both Catalonia and the Valencian Community have allied to demand that administrations accelerate the implementation of the Mediterranean Corridor.

With a banner bearing the slogan Sortim del túnel (Let's get out of the tunnel), the demand was led by the president of Foment del Treball, Josep Sánchez Llibre, and by the general secretary of the Valencian Association of Businesspeople, Diego Lorente, along with the Secretary of Mobility of the Generalitat, Manel Nadal.

Sánchez Llibre and Lorente lamented that high-speed rail still does not connect Barcelona and Valencia. "How is it possible that the second and third cities of the country are not connected by High Speed in the country that has the most kilometers after China?" Lorente asked. Both called for action from business and social unity to advance in the construction of the infrastructure, and asked the central government to prioritize this issue.

The meeting in front of Sants Station is part of the Quiero Corredor (I Want Corridor) initiative, which will return to Barcelona on November 28 with a dialogue between the former president of the Valencian Community Ximo Puig and the president and founder of the European Leadership Academy, Josep Antoni Duran i Lleida. Both will address this issue in an event at the Palau de Congressos de Catalunya, where they aim to bring together 2,000 businesspeople from the Mediterranean arc.

The event will convene them just two years after more than 1,500 also gathered in Barcelona to demand acceleration of the railway infrastructure, which has accumulated 25 years of delays with continuous demands and actions, especially from the business community, to demand an end to radial Spain and demand this Mediterranean connection.
