Mobility is key for cities and for their future, while cities are key to rethinking the way citizens move. In this context, CASA SEAT joins the European Mobility Week, promoted again by the European Commission to advance towards more sustainable models, and it does so with activities that will explore sector innovations and the latest industry trends, especially those that combine automotive, technology, and sustainability.
The agenda of activities will kick off on September 17 at 11 in the morning, with the presentation of the Auto Mobility Trends 2024 barometer, in whose analysis the CEO of SEAT and CUPRA, Wayne Griffiths, participated. The meeting will offer an exhaustive vision of current and future mobility trends, and aims to become a space for debate on innovations and also on the challenges facing the sector.
On the same September 17, at 6 p.m., the space will host a new Carnet Insights 2024 meeting, which will look into the future of urban mobility with two round tables with sector experts, for which it is already possible to reserve a ticket. The first will deal with the development of intelligent infrastructures, through sensors, traffic lights, and real-time data-based traffic management systems, tools called to transform current cities. Those in charge of shedding light on this issue will be the Head of Innovation at Abertis Autopistas and Future Road Lab manager, Xavier Daura, and the Director of Research and Development at Nommon, Oliva Cantú.
Connected vehicles of the present and future will be the focus of the second round table, which will address the technological revolution that 5G also implies for vehicles. The Professor of AI and Robotics at UPC and founder of the Research Center in Intelligent Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (IDEAI-UPC), Cecilio Angulo, and the Mobility Business Leader at Eurecat, David Pardos, will focus on advances in communication between vehicles, as well as between vehicles and infrastructures.
CASA SEAT's program, framed within the European Mobility Week, will culminate on September 21 at 12:30 p.m., with the presentation of the book Wheels & Watches by Oriol Vilanova. A car designer, photographer, and art director passionate about watchmaking and automotive, Vilanova brings both worlds together in his book, through testimonies from more than 50 figures from both sectors, including the Design Director of CUPRA and SEAT, Jorge Díez. The meeting with Vilanova, for which ticket reservation is required, will review the stories of some of these figures and delve into watches and automobiles and their respective industries, which look towards a more sustainable future.
