The Barcelona Woman Acceleration Week (BWAW) consolidates itself as a benchmark event in favor of gender equality in the business sphere, as well as to make visible female talent in key areas for the economy. The fourth edition of the event, organized by the Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona (CZFB), will be held from March 5 to 7 at DFactory Barcelona, one day longer than in previous editions, although it can also be followed telematically. One more year it will have the collaboration of the Incyde Foundation of the Chambers of Commerce of Spain.
"It is a source of pride to see how the Barcelona Woman Acceleration Week, in just four editions, has consolidated itself as a benchmark event conceived by men and women for men and women, since it is the only way that equality is understood and can truly be achieved," remarks the director of the CZFB, Blanca Sorigué. "Hopefully the day will come when we have to stop doing this event because it will mean that we will have reached a situation of absolute normality," adds Sorigué.
For his part, the special delegate of the State in the CZFB, Pere Navarro, highlights that "BWAW returns one more year to make visible the role of women in strategic sectors for economic development such as industry, logistics, health or technology."
This year, as a novelty, the event will take place over three days and the content program will be distributed in fourteen sessions. Gender equality in the legal field, the presence of women in industry 4.0, the figure of women in the audiovisual environment, parity in large corporations and in the public sector, and professional retraining at middle age will be some of the issues that will be addressed at the BWAE. It will also discuss human resources management and the visibility of female talent in sectors such as programming, the pharmaceutical sector or the healthcare system.
All this, they emphasize from the CZFB, with 60 speakers "with extensive experience and a long professional career." The speakers will be in charge of analyzing the reality of their respective sectors, the achievements made, but they will also focus on the main obstacles they encounter in their daily lives on the long road to equality.
