Since its creation in 2014, BStartup has invested in the initial phases of 78 startups, which have generated more than 1,600 jobs. Of these, 30% have a woman on their founding team, a figure significantly higher than the sector average.

Banco Sabadell's financial service invests in companies from any sector that include a high digital and technological component in their project. 40% of the investments have materialized in companies with social impact and, in fact, BStartup has two specific calls for key sectors in this regard: health and ecological transition.

From BStartup Health, investments are made in biotechnology, medical device, and digital health startups, always in very early stages (pre-seed and seed). In these cases, the investment is primarily aimed at validating the technology and the market, where precisely less investment is available. This vertical will celebrate its fifth edition this year.

On the other hand, BStartup Green was created in 2021 to invest in startups that, through technology or digitalization, are capable of facilitating the transition towards a more sustainable world. For example, companies focused on energy transition, industry 4.0, smart cities, or the circular economy are sought.

In this last year, BStartup has backed 12 emerging companies, which have received around 100,000 euros. BiaPower, Wegaw, MOA Foodtech, Amphora, Cafler, Napptive, offUgo, Saigu Cosmetics, Trustiu, Sycai Medical, Thytech, and Time is Brain have been the companies in which the entity has invested.
