The multinational Boehringer Ingelheim announced this Tuesday an investment of 13 million euros in its technology hub in Sant Cugat del Vallès, one of the largest available to the German company and inaugurated a decade ago.
The center serves more than 50,000 users worldwide, has 300 professionals, and expects to incorporate thirty more throughout this year. In addition, there are workers of 27 different nationalities who speak 14 languages. "We are the most important unit for the company in technological services after the center in Ingelheim am Rhein, the group's headquarters, and that of the United States," highlights the head of the technology hub, Marieta Ramos, reports ACN.
The biopharmaceutical company's announcement coincides with the tenth anniversary of the opening of this center, which with the new resources will see its workforce expand by 10% this year. Among others, the center hosts the cyber intelligence and security operations unit, which is responsible for identifying possible cyberattacks, as well as a network operations, factory automation, and sales unit.
Boehringer Ingelheim has two other technology centers apart from the one in the Vallès town, in Buenos Aires and Manila.
