arcelona prepares to host, between October 6 and 9, an event that could mark a before and after in the way congresses have been held until now. The Covid-19 pandemic has forced a rethinking of this type of event, which is why the Consorci de la Zona Franca has given birth to a new, totally disruptive hybrid format for business meetings that expects to bring together more than 10,000 attendees.
This is the Barcelona New Economy Week (BNEW), a 100% professional event designed to contribute to the economic reactivation process and which will have five main thematic axes: Real Estate, Ecommerce, Logistics, Digital Industry and Economic Zones.
Thus, simultaneously and for four days, these five events will be held, which will be broadcast live over the Internet, with the participation of more than 300 speakers distributed in 120 sessions.
The objective of the Consorci de la Zona Franca is to help position Barcelona as a key player in the new economy, in addition to making visible the city's potential in terms of entrepreneurship and industry 4.0.
Emblematic locations for a disruptive event
BNEW will have five sets (one for each thematic axis) located in three emblematic locations. These are Estació de França, the recently opened Casa Seat and the Movistar Centre.
All BNEW sessions will be held in person in these three spaces and can be followed by streaming. Specifically, Estació de França will be the setting for BNEW Logistics, BNEW Ecommerce and BNEW Real Estate. In addition, it will also host the broadcast of all sessions called Inspirational Talks, interventions that will be common to the five thematic axes.
The Inspirational Talks are aimed primarily at executives and managers of companies to help them improve their performance and efficiency in team management.
For its part, Casa Seat is the space chosen to host BNEW Economic Zones, while the Movistar Centre will house the contents of BNEW Digital Industry.
With this great hybrid event, the Consorci de la Zona Franca wants to analyze the challenges and opportunities that emerge in the post-Covid era, as well as help expand knowledge, resolve doubts, anticipate the future and receive feedback from the opinions of other experts in an agile and innovative format.
In addition to the keynote speeches or Inspirational Talks, BNEW features an extensive program of debates and thematic panels that will involve more than 300 experts.
Pere Navarro, special delegate of the State in the Consorci de la Zona Franca, highlights "the importance of the collaboration of companies so relevant to the economy and image of the country with BNEW", referring to Seat, Telefónica and Adif.
