A new European congress lands in Barcelona. EUROLOG, the annual Congress of the ELA (European Logistics Association), has announced that this year it will celebrate its 26th edition in the Catalan capital in alliance with the Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona. The event will take place on June 6, 7 and 8 and will coincide with the celebration of SIL Barcelona.
Specifically, on June 7, EUROLOG participants will meet within the framework of SIL, while on June 6 and 8 they will do so at the DFactory Barcelona facilities, promoted by the Consorci. It is not the first time that EUROLOG chooses Barcelona, as it is the city where it held its first edition, in 2002. Now, it returns more than 20 years later after having visited different European cities such as Athens, Bucharest, Milan, Lisbon or Berlin.
The agreement with the European congress will contribute to the celebration acts of the 25th anniversary of SIL Barcelona, which has consolidated itself as the leading fair in the logistics and transport sector in Southern Europe, the Mediterranean and Latin America. The 2023 edition is expected to bring together more than 650 companies, with a 20% growth.
The ELA is a federation made up of 30 European associations that bring together more than 50,000 companies from almost all countries in Central and Western Europe. Its objective is to provide an international forum for networking, promotion and development of the logistics and supply chain profession.
"In 2002 EUROLOG was organized at SIL Barcelona and for the ELA it is a pleasure and a privilege to be able to repeat it now, on its 25th anniversary. It will be an opportunity to look back at the evolution of the sector in which we have experienced both evolution and disruptions and to which European logistics and supply chain professionals have adapted thanks to technological innovation and the development of professional talent," highlighted Paolo Bisogni, president of the ELA.
For her part, Blanca Sorigué, director of the Consorci de la Zona Franca and SIL explained that "hosting EUROLOG within SIL is a great opportunity and excellent news for the entire logistics sector that will put our country in the global spotlight of the supply chain at the beginning of June".
Finally, Ramón García, general director of the Spanish Logistics Center and member of the ELA Board, has pointed out that "we are at a crucial moment for the redesign of global supply chains; in which Europe must play a very relevant role; therefore, bringing EUROLOG to Spain with the actors participating in this debate is a great opportunity."
