The District is a global real estate sector congress born in Barcelona to recover the city as a reference center for Real Estate at a European level, since it is aimed at professional investors. The promoters of the event, which will be held from October 19 to 21, want it to end up becoming the Mobile World Congress of the real estate sector, according to Albert Planas, general director of NEBEXT, the organizing company.

The event, which will occupy the 18,000 square meters of pavilion 8 of Fira de Barcelona's Montjuïc venue, will bring together more than 250 companies from the sector and some 380 international personalities and experts, such as the senior managing director in Real Estate Acquisitions for Blackstone in Europe, Michael Swank; the head of Europe for TPG, Michael Abel; the founder of Stoneshield, Juan Pepa; or the president of the European Public Real Estate Association, Pere Viñolas.

During the sessions of the event, the situation of the real estate sector will be debated, taking into account highly current factors such as the devaluation of the euro, the historic rise in interest rates, or the application of new technologies in real estate projects.

As for the participants, the organizers expect the attendance of some 7,000 people, with a prominent presence of managers from investment funds, banks, large holders, administrations, operators, developers, marketing agencies, or consultants.

"With the celebration of The District, we are bringing together all the global players in the Real Estate industry in Barcelona with a triple objective: to resolve the cyclical doubts surrounding the sector for the coming year, to boost commercial activity with agile meetings that allow feeling the current state of the market, and to reposition the city again as a Real Estate Friendly territory for investors," remarks the president of the event and former CEO of the real estate developer Neinor, Juan Velayos.
