Attracting more investment in the field of life sciences and boosting the sector's ecosystem in the Catalan capital. With this objective, Barcelona Global's investment attraction agency, Barcelona & Partners, has incorporated Net-Pharma, the first reference hub in Europe for services and technologies in the sector.
Composed of 30 companies and based in Alcobendas, Net-Pharma has more than 8,000 square meters of surface area distributed in laboratories, production area, and offices. The hub, which houses companies that have developed six international patents in the last five years, connects companies, organizations, and people in the health industry to seek sector growth. With its incorporation into Barcelona & Partners, Barcelona Global's agency advances in its goal of positioning Barcelona as a leading city in the life sciences sector worldwide.
Net-Pharma's leaders currently participate in Barcelona Global's life sciences chapter, made up of over a hundred professionals. Within this chapter, which aims to improve the competitiveness of Barcelona and its metropolitan area in this field, five working groups have been created to address various aspects of the sector and to identify opportunities through its members, who include representatives of companies, startups, and healthcare and research centers.
With Net-Pharma's entry into Barcelona & Partners, both entities will collaborate to identify these opportunities and generate investment attraction projects. Through the agreement signed by Net-Pharma's president, Cristóbal Molleja, and Barcelona Global's president, Ramon Agenjo, they will also work to accelerate and support both national and international companies and corporations that are considering establishing or growing in Barcelona and its surroundings. The Catalan capital and its area of influence offer "a unique combination of highly qualified talent, excellent quality of life, first-class infrastructure, scientific capacity, and a dynamic entrepreneurial ecosystem," Agenjo proclaimed.
For the president of Barcelona Global, having Net-Pharma as a partner is key to "continuing to generate, attract, and retain companies and initiatives in the field of life sciences, and thus turn Barcelona into a leading city in this sector globally."
In this sense, the agreement will facilitate the identification and generation of new investment projects, according to the president of Net-Pharma, who has defended that the collaboration with Barcelona & Partners "will allow us to strengthen our mission to promote and create synergies that favor the growth of the life sciences and health sector", also in a Barcelona determined to be a benchmark in this field on an international scale.
